"The Glories of Winter  January 7-28, 2018
Invitation to Exhibit in January: “The Glories of Winter”

The Klamath Art Association and Gallery is hosting a themed invitational exhibit for January 2018 celebrating “The Glories of Winter.” Winter in the Great Basin has it’s own beauty when perceived though artistic eyes. The gallery is issuing a call to artists, photographers, sculptors and crafts people to exhibit their “winter” work during that month. We are specifically looking for any imagery that glorifies winter at its best!  Winter scenes and landscapes, winter sports, winter activities, textiles, and art quilts with winter themes. Winter clothing accessories such as hand knit, crocheted or woven hats, mitts and scarves are welcome too!  The exhibit will open with an artist’s reception from noon to 4 PM on Sunday, January 7th and will run all month until Sunday, January 28th.
Both members and non-members of the Klamath Art Association are invited to display their creations. Participants have a chance to win “Peoples Choice” awards in three categories based on voting by patrons visiting the exhibit during the first two weeks. In addition to possibly winning an award, as all work must be for sale, participants can make money from selling their work. The commission rate is 30% for non-members and 25% for members of the Klamath Art Association. To help defray the cost of publicity, award ribbons, and refreshments, non-members are asked to pay an entry fee of $5.00 per work for artwork that is for wall display. For crafts items that are displayed on tables, there is a single flat $5.00 entry fee for non-member table space. Tabletop display space will be up to the discretion of the exhibit manager.  All work needs to be delivered in person to the Klamath Art Gallery at 120 Riverside drive on Thursday, January 4, from 2 to 6PM. For questions or inventory and tag forms please send your e-mail request to: klamathartassoc@aol.com. Forms will be available at the gallery the afternoon of January 4. You may also phone the gallery at 541-883-1833.
In order to insure that every member and every invitee is able to show examples of their work on our walls during group exhibits, there is a limit of two works if they are under 24" x 36 inches on the outside of the frame or a total of 864 square inches (external measurements) if they are an odd shaped frame. OR: 1 work up to 28" x 42" as measured to the external edges of the frame or a total of 1,176 square inches as measured to external edges of an odd size frame. Framed work is preferred. All “wall” work must have wire back hangers clear across the back of the work. No hook or loop hangers. "Coloring Book" art is specifically excluded, as it is not original art. The gallery reserves the right to refuse work that does not fit the theme or does not meet the above requirements. NO exceptions. Complete exhibitor polices are available on the Klamath Art Gallery website at:  http://klamathartgallery.blogspot.com/p/exhibit-policies-and-mission.html.

The Klamath Art Gallery is located at 120 Riverside Drive at south end of the Link River Birding Trail. After January 1, 2018, the gallery is open Wednesdays through Sundays from 12 noon-4 PM. Admission is always free.
